Help & FAQ
Answers to common questions about donating and running a campaign.
▸How does Sadaqa Direct work?
People who need help post a campaign — a sick relative's treatment, a mosque being built, a water well, food for the hungry — together with their bank or payment details. Donors browse the causes and send money directly to the campaign owner. Sadaqa Direct never holds or processes the money; it simply connects givers with those in need.
▸How do I donate to a campaign?
Open the campaign and look at the 'How to donate' box. It shows the campaign owner's bank details (account number, IBAN, PayPal, etc.). Make the transfer from your own bank, then — if you like — log your donation on the page. Your amount is never shown to anyone.
▸Why doesn't the collection bar move right after I log my donation?
The bar only rises when the campaign owner confirms that your money actually arrived in their account. This keeps the bar honest — it shows money truly received, not just promised.
▸Will people see how much I gave?
No. The amount you enter is only visible to the campaign owner (who sees it arrive in their account anyway). Publicly, supporters see only your name (or 'Anonymous') and your message. The Qur'an praises giving in secret (2:271), and the site is designed around that.
▸How do I start a campaign?
Create an account, confirm your email address, then click 'Start a campaign'. Describe your cause honestly, choose a category and location, and add the bank details donations should go to. Your campaign appears on the homepage immediately.
▸How do I show donors what their money achieved?
From your dashboard, open 'Manage' on your campaign and post progress updates. You can attach a video — upload it to YouTube (an 'Unlisted' video works fine) and paste the link; it will play directly on your campaign page.
▸How do I know a campaign is genuine?
Every campaign owner must verify their email address, and our team reviews campaigns and suspends any that look fraudulent. But because donations go directly from you to the campaign owner, please use your own judgement too: prefer campaigns from people you know or that share verifiable details, start with a small amount, and report anything suspicious to us.
▸I found a suspicious campaign — what should I do?
Email us (address below) with a link to the campaign and why it concerns you. We take reports seriously and will suspend campaigns that can't be verified.
▸Does Sadaqa Direct take a fee?
No. 100% of what you send goes directly to the campaign owner — the money never passes through us at all.
